Year 11 Orphan Hospital Physiotherapy Room Project

Year 11 Eastmeadows Girls will begin their new project this term. Year 11 students have decided to fundraise for the Orphan Hospital Physiotherapy Room in Vietnam. Currently, there are 240 children permanently residing in the orphanage with many diseases and multiple malformations. Aged from newborn to 17 year olds, common diseases among the orphans include hydrocephalus, congenital disease and down syndrome.

We hope to receive support from family and friends to fundraise $25,000 for the orphans in Vietnam!

A Message from the Physical Education Department

On Thursday 15th February students enjoyed a day at Deakin’s School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences offer. Our VCE Physical Education class had the opportunity to gain an insight into exercise science testing and evaluation in a laboratory at Melbourne Burwood Campus.

The laboratory experience offered a link to Unit 1 (The Human Body in Motion) and Unit 4 (Training to Improve Performance) of the VCE Physical Education curriculum.

Students enjoyed a 120-minute program, with students interacting with sport scientists, while conducting and interpreting a range of laboratory tests, including a VO2 max cycle test and submaximal step test.

Thanks to Mr Scott Westray for your contacts to set this wonderful opportunity up for VCE PE students.
